Why 3D visualisations are still so expensive?

Today, architectural 3D visualization is an inseparable part of any project related to the process of architecture, but so far, few people in society know what it is.

Architectural 3D visualization

Architectural visualization is a graphical representation of an object or urban planning situation created with the help of computer technologies. It has a high degree of informativeness and gives the most complete representation of the main characteristics of the future structure. It is an effective form of displaying competitive projects, creating presentations in the field of design and construction. Architectural visualization has become a special trend in the work of architects and 3D designers.

Using photorealistic images you can see how your non-existent building or block of buildings will look like. Therefore, 3D architectural visualization is a powerful tool for construction companies. It can be easily perceived by both, the consumer and the contractor. In addition, by presenting an object that shows the most effective perspective, 3D architectural visualization allows promoting a product in the most effective way as it helps to attract new investors.

Nowadays, high-quality architectural visualization, as a final product, should combine artistic value in terms of composition, lighting and the competent presentation of architectural elements. The capabilities of modern computing algorithms (rendering systems) and computer facilities allow us to create fully photorealistic images of architectural forms, which is especially important when visualizing an object in an existing development or in the existing area. Thus, at the moment, architectural visualization includes a variety of tasks for both builders and architects, for advertising and creative fields.

Architectural visualization as a field of activity appeared in the 80-90s when some computer software companies began to make 3D software for desktops. In countries with developed economies, this speciality came first. This profession is much more complicated than it seems at first sight. Architectural visualizer is not a draughtsman who simply adjusts drawings in a 3D program and renders the image of the object. Only knowledge of programs is not enough for the qualitative performance of tasks. For example, the visualizer should know the rules of installation of road signs and road markings, making the visualization of the exterior on the streets of the city. He must know the biology, planting different plants to decorate the site, taking into account the region where the project is located. Creating different materials (wood, metal, water, etc.) in 3D you need to know their characteristics perfectly.

Advantages of architectural 3D visualization

Using 3D visualization in architectural projects, you can create a model of any building without using many obscure sketches. By accurately depicting every detail, you can clearly model a house, cottage and other structures. The advantage of this method is the following:

  • the ability to create three-dimensional models of the project, even 3D plans can be used to promote a building
  • possibility to consider all details even non-existent project at different angles at different weather conditions that allow defining presence of defects in a design or its perfection,
  • the opportunity to see objects around the project, the context
  • the ability to fully calculate the necessary material for construction before it begins,
  • the ability to create business presentations.

All these factors make this work incredibly interesting and at the same time complex, requires a lot of skills and knowledge, as well as artistic talent.
